SOUL OF DUST | Andrea Crescenzi
In Soul of Dust, Kayzer Ballet presents the latest creation by Andrea Crescenzi — a poignant work that delves into the fragility of memory and the silent pain of Alzheimer's. Far from portraying the disease literally, the choreography evokes sensations of loss, reconstruction, and identity in ruins, guiding the audience through a deeply sensorial emotional journey.
With movements both delicate and brutal, between lapses of lyricism and mechanical gestures, the bodies on stage become living metaphors of a collapsing mind. The original electronic soundtrack by the Italian duo Haas, dense and fragmented, reinforces the atmosphere of confusion and solitude, while the minimalist lighting and scenography capture fragments of fading memories.
Soul of Dust is a visceral stage experience, a poetic tribute to memory and to what is lost with time. Unsettling and essential, the work does not seek answers but invites empathy — and reminds us, urgently, of the importance of not forgetting who we are, where we came from, and where we are going.
